Attack with coffee cup results in felony charge for Billings woman

BILLINGS – A 42-year-old woman accused of attacking a man in a motel room with a coffee cup was charged Monday in Yellowstone County Justice Court.

Phoebe Gail Feather appeared by video from the county jail on a felony charge of assault with a weapon.

Feather was arrested Sunday when officers were called to the Lewis and Clark Motel at 1709 First Avenue North. A male victim told the officers he was attacked in a room at the motel and had fled to another room.

When officers arrived, the victim said he had been “hanging out” with Feather and a man in a motel room when Feather attacked him with a coffee cup when she found out he had made a derogatory comment about his girlfriend, court records state. He said the man also punched him in the face several times.

Officers said the victim suffered a deep cut on his hands and cuts on his stomach, legs, and face.

Feather was arrested at the scene and allegedly admitted that she used a coffee cup to strike the victim, court records state. A broken coffee with blood on it was found in the motel parking lot.
