You won’t believe what these keepers have to do to get in and out this lighthouse in the middle of the sea.
It is absolutely terrifying and crazy what these keepers at “Le Kereon” lighthouse have to challenge to go on week-ends. Compared to our daily subway mess, this is hell!

The kereon lighthouse (phare de Kéréon in french) stands on the Reef Men Tensel (“snappish stone” in Breton) between Ushant and Mullein on the passage of Fromveur in Iroise Sea. It was built between 1907 and 1916 and was named according to Charles-Marie Le Dall de Kéréon, anaval officer guillotined at the age of 19 during the Terror.

The lighthouse is full of luxury: mosaic in the stairwell, oak floors decorated with pink inlaid mahogany and ebony winds and oak paneling from Hungary.
