A man has just insured his taste buds for £1m, but that’s nothing on these expensive body parts

A Tetley tea taster has just insured his taste buds for £1m. That’s nothing to Tom Jones’ chest hair.

Are your taste buds worth £1million? Probably not. But this guy’s are! At least he’s just insured them for that much.  Sebastian Michaelis is a tea taster employed by Tetley, and can grade a variety of tea in just 15 seconds.

Tetley tea tasters test 40,000 cups of tea every week.

But you could get three sets of Mr Michaelis’ taste buds for Tom Jones’ chest hair. Here are some other crazily expensive body parts – and how much they got insured by.

Tom Jones’ chest hair – £3.5million

America Ferrera’s smile – £6.4million

We don’t know how she got away with that either.

Mariah Carey’s legs – £636million

Okay, everyone loves Mariah, but REALLY? That’s equivalent to hundreds of houses. And makes her legs worth about a 1000x more than Rihanna’s legs. We don’t know who did this maths either.

What value would you put on Tom Jones’ chest hair?

  • £3.2million – he’s a god, and he’s worth it

  • £25 – I could take it or leave it

  • I would rather not hear any about more his chest hair
